Ter oportunidade de VS oportunidade para

I’ve heard a podcast and someone said “tivemos a oportunidade de apresentar”. In PPcom I saw both “Ela teve oportunidade para mudar de carreira” and “Eu nunca tivera muitas oportunidades de viajar para fora“. ChatGPT says in European Portuguese, only oportunidade + de + infinitive is correct.

Can a native speaker share their intuition on this?

@jonatas, both prepositions de and para are grammatically acceptable after oportunidade. In my experience, de is used more often, and pretty much exclusively so whenever oportunidade is preceded by the definite article a (e.g. a oportunidade de…). In the absence of that article, para becomes an interchangeable option, although less frequent.
