Does sei lá mean I don't know?

I have heard sei lá used a few times instead of não sei. At least I think that’s what it means. Is this common usage?

Yes, it’s a more emphatic form of “I don’t know”. Like “I have no idea at all”. Depending on people’s tone when saying it, they might also be suggesting that they don’t care to know, anyway  Welcome to the forum, by the way!
