Answering the door

hi. I was wondering if there are particular phrases for answering the door. For instance when someone knocks on your door, do you just say, ‘Sim, quem é, por favor’ (yes, who is it?)

or is there a better or more polite way to phrase it?

@mdomocol Can’t think of anything else we’d normally use. Usually, people will just say “Sim?” or “Quem é?”. I don’t remember ever hearing or using “Por favor” in this context, by the way - just quite straight to the point.

I think a polite expression to use when a stranger calls is “Bom dia / Boa tarde… em que posso ajudá-lo / la?”
