Hope you have a good time there! I don’t know if you already know this, but if you have time, it’s very easy to do day trips to cities like Braga or Guimarães from there, since there is regular train service between them. They’re nice additions to a Porto trip :slight_smile:

This will be our 3rd trip, and as you suggest, we’re thinking of a day trip or 2 (or 3) to Guimarães and Braga, and maybe Coimbra (to see the Fado, which we saw when we visited a couple years ago)

I recommend a day trip to Viana do Castelo :slight_smile: Easy to reach by train.

I myself am planning to visit Viana do Castelo next time I go up north. Looks like a very nice town.

If you’re around Coimbra, there’s a castle in Panela, and a Roman historical site called Conimbriga which are both on my to-see list. Ye might find them interesting!

Edit: Just realised the way I worded it makes it seem like Conimbriga is in Panela too. It’s actually on the way to Panela from Coimbra.
