I’m almost through the A1 series and had a general question around the use of pronouns for the subject of a sentence. Having studied Spanish before, it seems like they are used much more frequently in the PP sample sentences than I would expect (i.e., only for emphasis/clarity). Is this to help us learn the conjugations, or is more frequent use really a feature of Portuguese (e.g. because stress-timing makes it more difficult to clearly distinguish verb endings)?

Good question. In general, I would say the frequency of use of pronouns is comparable between Spanish and Portuguese, but there’s no problem in using them a bit more than the bare minimum - it still sounds natural for us. Our shorties, especially past A2, tend to have more accurate demonstrations of how pronouns are used in daily life. In the Units, we’ll sometimes keep the pronouns more than we need to, just for support. We have no issue distinguishing the different verb endings in conversation.
