Study Methods and Learning Structure

Seeking advice on study structure. As well as working through the units, how much time should I spend on Shorties, Flashcards or even writing notes? I can understand quite a bit of Portuguese grammar structure & my reading skills are ok. But need some advice on study methods to make better progress. Any useful advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

@i-cold, I see you’ve already gotten helpful tips via our support channel  In addition to those, let me just point you to this post, with an overview of recommendations shared here on the forum: Structure of Portuguese Course | Practice Portuguese Forum

From my short experience I can only say that advancing through the units only makes you FEEL comfortable with the language, but your brain needs the Smart Review Flash Cards to really confront memorizing and structuring sentences in different ways.

Also, and it’s coming from other fields in life, you need to be hell-bent on strengething the things you prioritize. It’s less about “Is 1 hour a day enough?” and more about “It’s embarassingly slow to buy a train ticket. I’ll say it out loud at home 20 times a day without looking at the text until it feels natural”.
