Speech recognition a bit harsh

I notice that sometimes PP downgrades me for my spoken Portuguese, which forces me to speak in an unnatural manner like a robot. Is there some way PP could use DeepL API for speech it cannot recognize? DeepL encourages me to speak quickly and naturally so I often am skipping PP speech revognition during Smart Review. :folded_hands:

Taking this a bit further … it’s frustrating when I achieve a low score on a speech recognition question and I have no way of knowing what I got wrong. What would be super helpful would be if the platform could tell me what it thought I said, like an AI bot would do. I appreciate that would require quite a bit of development, but could it be a long term project?

That’s the way it used to work. That feature disappeared sometime earlier this year. It was super useful.

DeepL API will also return what it thought we said and that is really helpful to see. DeepL is not free for companies but costs can be managed by passing them on in a premium offering.

These days i skip the the speech entry cards and simply use my phone in PT mode to speak on the text entry cards. So yes we could omit the speech entry cards and use the text entry cards for speech and/or keyed entry but that feels like a hack.

I have just logged into PP and as far as I can see the option to see what the app heard is still available by clicking on the % score. The play back is also still available.

Ah! It used to appear when you hovered. Probably conditioned by that I’d never thought to actually click…..

Many thanks.
