Should I use "Report a Problem" for grammar questions?

Continuing the discussion from O cérebro está na cabeça?:

Is the “Report a Problem” button really expected to be used for general grammar questions? I almost clicked that, but then I thought I shouldn’t because, well, I wasn’t really reporting a problem. I just had a question about the grammar. Maybe another button for more general questions/feedback would encourage people to ask those questions when they have them? You might even make the option open a new thread on this forum with the text included. Just a suggestion. :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree that a button that would open a forum post with the English and Portuguese text already pasted in would be brilliant.

Forum posts are great, because they allow other people to see the answer without having to ask the question. I like to browse the forum and often try to understand the answers and explanations for issues I haven’t (yet) faced myself. So thumbs up for glb’s idea :+1:

@glb, yes, you can also use the button for that purpose. I think the button used to be called “Send feedback about this question” and maybe that wording, or something else, is less confusing - I can pass on that feedback internally

For members, the button has the convenience of being integrated in the units and not requiring extra steps from you to ask a question (having to open the forum or the contact page separately, copying the exercise, etc.). For the team, by being linked to our support system, the follow-up is typically faster and we can more easily keep track of questions triggered by a certain exercise and things that we might need to optimize accordingly.

So, for any questions specifically linked to an exercise phrase, due to its wording or something, the button would normally be our first suggestion. In any case, like @Tomas mentioned, we also appreciate the fact that the forum (and also the comment sections on the website) allows other members to also find clarification for their questions and/or start a free-flowing exchange on a given topic, so we are also glad to answer questions over here and don’t block that possibility at all, although we might occasionally remind people of the alternative.

I don’t think that a direct link from the units to the forum is a possibility, but that proposal is also noted.

I don’t know if it is possible, and even if it is it might be difficult to implement and/or have security implications (cross-site scripting et al.). But for what it’s worth, I’ve seen plugins that do that sort of thing: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-discourse/

I just noticed that the option has been renamed to “Get Help”. Thanks for the quick fix!
