S between vocals

Hi,
in https://www.practiceportuguese.com/shorties/bianca-e-a-sua-familia/
I like the speakers sound very much because it is clearly understandable and at the same time it sounds quite original portuguese (imho). There is a sentence “e brincamos outra vez” and there the s is spoken like sh if I can trust my ears. And I think it should sound like s because it is between 2 vocals. Or ist it a special situation there?

Olá, @321dieters  In this case, the S sound is unchanged because the speaker is intentionally speaking quite slowly and separating the word. The Z transformation happens much more in faster, natural speech. Please note there is regional variability - for example, while you’d hear a [z] in the Lisbon region in these cases (brincamo[z]outra vez), you might hear a [j] in the region of Coimbra (brincamo[j]outra vez).
