In unit Adjectives 1 Lesson 3: Young, Old, and New you can read: “tu compraste roupas novas”. Would it also be correct to say: tu compraste roupa nova? “a roupa” is translated into “clothes” i.e. already in plural. Is there any grammatical rule governing this?

Olá, @bonas.kneck. Yes, the singular is also absolutely fine and both would mean the same As long as the sentence is grammatically coherent (i.e. plural or singular agreement), you don’t have to worry. No specific rule to follow here.
