Lesson 10 in ‘Temporal Relationships’ has the following phrase:
Reformámo-nos no ano passado - We retired last year
Could you also use ‘Nós reformámos no ano passado’? Why is the ‘s’ dropped in ‘Reformámo-nos’? If I look up the conjugation for reformar, I don’t find that version anywhere.
@pauladwg, in Portuguese, this verb needs to be used reflexively if you want to refer to retirement. Without the reflexive pronoun, the verb only means to reform. The S is dropped in Reformámo-nos because that’s a requirement for verb forms ending in S and followed by the 1st person plural pronoun -nos. That is explained in this Learning Note: Clitic Pronouns - Nos & Vos 
Obrigada Joseph. That clears up my confusion. I am still quite a ways from the unit on Clitic Pronouns.
One suggestion, it would be helpful if in lessons like this, there was a short explanation of what will be learned in a future lesson.
