I’m on the Quanta/Quantas lessons and it seems out of left field for me. In the sentence ‘Ela conheceu tantas pessoas quantas conseguiu” quantas means as many as? I grew with Portuguese speaking family and Quantas/Quanto, I thought, was asking the question “How many?” I haven’t been in a Portuguese speaking community in 15 years, so maybe things have changed? I’ll admit doing these lessons, I’m running into words I’ve never heard before.
@fraposo in a question, quanto/a(s) will translate as how much? or how many?. But in a statement, especially when paired with tanto/a(s), it’ll normally mean as many/much as. This Learning Note explains it: Relative Quantifiers: As Much As | Practice Portuguese
