Pronouncing the N in Muito

I am only just picking up on the fact that the word muito, is pronounced with an N sound. Like muinto…

Is there a rule for this? Or is this a one off?

Olá, @davidmichel_1. That’s true, there’s a “hidden” N in muito, but that’s really an exceptional case. You won’t find other words that are pronounced with extra nasal consonants like that.

I would add the caution that having listened to many locals speak on P.P. and in country, that Joseph’s answer is the official view. At times I can’t figure whether the person added or omitted an intonation nasal or otherwise!
