O candeeiro está no teto

Quick question about vocabulary. I feel like it’s more of an English question than Portuguese. In my American English (sou de Baltimore Maryland), I would never say a lamp is on the ceiling. I would likely say the light is on the ceiling.

Just wondering if it’s just me (my family is not around currently to ask them), or if it’s a regional thing or what.

O candeeiro está no teto

The lamp is on the ceiling

@chokers_gossips6h, I believe light is a more likely choice here, yes. There is a risk that people expect it to be translated as luz and not candeeiro, but I still went ahead and updated the translation so as not to make it too distracting for native English speakers. Thanks!
