I’m curious about what happens with the pronunciation of the “M” at the end of words. Ie, Sim, Bem, etc
That’s right. Ending Ms are not articulated at the lips, but they nasalize the pronunciation of the preceding vowel. This nasalization is helped by the movement of the back of the tongue, which rises towards the soft palate. It might feel and sound similar to an English -ng sound (as in “sing” or “ring”, without articulating the G), except that the tongue doesn’t fully seal off the mouth in Portuguese.
