Is there a difference between À noite and de noite

Some sites suggest that the former means “by night” while the later - “at night”. Any truth to that?

@akruglik, in general, we use both prepositions interchangeably, really This applies for both afternoons (de tarde = à tarde) and evenings/nights (de noite = à noite). But for mornings, we only use the preposition de (de manhã).
