Gender confusion

In the A1 shortie Sou o Afonso, there is a sentence (and forgive me here my keyboard won’t do the special marking with the letters) "Ela e muito inteligente e tem um bom sentido de humor." I wonder why this description of her is written as masculine? Not “uma bon sentida de humor”?

This is because her sense of humour, sentido de humor, is not an adjective describing ela, it is a noun that happens to be masculine.

Exactly. As Tomas said, “sentido de humor” is a masculine term and the adjective “bom” is qualifying this term, not the subject “ela”. As such, that part of the sentence must all be in the masculine form.
