For Anyone Who Likes Writing Essays

In English class, we used to write random essays.
If anyone likes short essays, I plan to write a few. Just a couple of paragraphs. I just like the way I learn to write little paragraphs and have the grammar corrected on them after.
Though, as I used to in high school and college, I plan to just plagiarize most of my material via stealing and rewording sentences from all sources but mostly from here.

I am working on a few now.

A Capital Criativa (The Creative Capital)
(Is it O or A?) Providence é a capital e Cidade Mais populosa do estado norte-americano de Rhode Island, no condado (a new word I just got from Wikipedia to mean the county, I believe from the context) de Providence. Nova Inglaterra do Sol (no idea if I can say this or not, I kinda made it up to refer to Southern New England) tem a maior populacao de residencias portuguesas. A lingua Português e a terceira lingua mais falar(? falando?) no estado do RI. Apena uma viagem pequena para Massachusetts, onde é o Segundo mais comum lingua. Nós comemoramos as portugueses com dia do Portugal e muitas festas varias aqui. No século vinte, grandes números de portugueses se estabeleceram em Nove Inglaterra do sol para trabalhar. Temos estaçoes de radio inteiramente transmitido em português. Muitas lugares aqui voam (does fly work for a flag in this context?) a bandeira portuguesa e cozinham a comida portuguesa. Eu comprei uma propriedade na cidade aqui porque eu a adoro. A maioria dos pessoas costuma visitar durante o ano escolar para as escolas liga da hera (Google said this means ivy league school but I don’t know if I trust her) O Providence é conhecido pela cena culinária e arte. É uma cidade com preços razoáveis que e difícil encontra em Estados Unidos. A melhor atração turística em verão e Waterfire, Pride Fest e PVDFest, que tem uma dia de Portugal em fim.

ALSO – my auto correct hated me for this but seemed to get used to Portuguese by the end of it.

K-so - fair warning that I’m a native english speaker, who is very much a newb in Portuguese (and I live north of Boston). But since you received no comments on this (and IMO doing writing like this is a very important part of learning the language), I thought I’d try my hand at a bit of rewriting if for nothing else to (a) support you and (b) learn my self.

I didn’t get through all of it (ran out of time), and make no claims that it’s more correct (it could be worse… I await @Joseph 's coreções :))

A cidade Providence é a capital de estado Rhode Island, um estado dos Estados Unidos. Está a cidade mais povoadas do condado de Providence. Nova Ingleterra da Sul tem a mais povoados portguês. A idioma Português é a terceira idioma o que falar no estado Rhode Island.

A cidade Providence é perto do estado Massachusetts, onde Português é a idioma segundo mais popular.

Os Portuguêses comemoram o Dia de Portugal com muitas festas varias.

No século vinte, muitos Portuguêses emigravam a Nova Ingleterra da Sul para encontraram trabalho. Agora, estão estaçoes de radio que fazam transmitidos em português solzinho. Também, muitas lojas mostram a bandeira portuguesa e os restaurants cozinham a comida portuguesa.

It was a pretty good effort Here are my corrections. I had already seen your topic, but I’ve been short on time! Thanks for trying to help, @stephencanthony.

By the way, usually, we don’t use definite articles before city names. There are exceptions, like “O Porto” (because ‘porto’ is also a noun) or “A Cidade do Cabo” (because of the noun ‘cidade’). Also, no need to translate every single name, especially if there’s no obvious translation. You can just keep the usual names, otherwise, before you know it, even “Los Angeles” will suddenly become “The Angels” (EN) or “Os Anjos” (PT) With that said, we do commonly translate some names. For example, New Orleans is Nova Orleães, San Francisco is São Francisco and New York is Nova Iorque. But Ivy League is Ivy League, Rhode Island is Rhode Island and Southern New England might as well stay like that too, haha.
