Years ago, we visited a ‘black school’ in the Netherlands,
where immigrant children spend the first three months
doing everything possible in their L2 – except speaking.
This allows them to thoroughly perceive the sounds,
that are new to them,
before they are encouraged to speak.
A successful project.
